At Fit & Stitch, we can turn alterations around such as taking up trousers within a couple of days. For Larger alterations like wedding dresses, we usually recommend you give yourself at least four weeks from start to finish. Homeware and curtain alterations usually take around a week, and the timeframe of completion depends on the type of alteration or repair. However, we understand alterations can sometimes be needed urgently and in these circumstances, we do our best to accommodate. If you have any questions regarding the timeframe of your alterations, please do not hesitate to give us a call!
In most cases, we ask our clients to have the shoes that you are going to wear with your alteration at your fitting, or a similar heel height to the ones that you intend to wear. We also highly recommend that you have a think about what undergarments you are going to wear with your outfit, and wear this for your fitting. Long hair should also be tied back, and we respectively ask that all items should be cleaned and washed before your fitting. We reserve the right to refuse any alteration that is not cleaned.
All fittings and consultations are booked and provided for a 30-minute slot. However, most alterations take a lot shorter time then this. If you are looking to book a consultation with multiple jobs or people such as bridesmaids, we ask for you to contact us at time of booking to confirm.
All prices are estimates and are displayed on our website. Only an exact and accurate quote will be given at the time of the first consultation. Please note that with any garment alteration, a £5 travel cost fee is put together with the overall price of the alteration.
At Fit & Stitch, we always ask for payment at time of collection. This payment can be received by cash or card, no cheques are accepted.
Of course! We are happy to fix anything from sewing a button to replacing a zip!
All work is completed in our fully equipped studio. We have everything we need to carry out all alterations effectively.
Fit & Stitch strive for customer satisfaction in every aspect of our business. However, in the unlikely event that a client is unhappy with our service, we ask to be contacted within 48 hours of collection. We asses cases individually and can discuss options to resolve any issues that may occur efficiently and effectively.
